Animal Welfare of Surry NC

Transportation is provided in a climate controlled vehicle from PetSense in Mt. Airy to the Forsyth Spay and Neuter Clinic where they are spayed or neutered by the clinics licensed veterinarian staff.   Drop off/pick up time is 7:30 am - 8:45 am every other Monday.  Pets are kept overnight to insure they are doing well before being returned to PetSense and their owners the following morning.  Drop off/pick up time can be flexible to meet your schedule.  Same day return of your pet can be arranged between the pet owner and the clinic.  Preregistration is required.  Please call 336-786-5256 for more information and registration.  You may also reach the clinic at 336-723-7550.   This program is open to the public.   Financial assistance may be available as funds allow.

Before Mondays Transport please:

• No food or water for your pet after 10:00 p.m the night before procedure.
• Please line your pets crate/pet taxi with newspaper in case they need to potty.  Once at the clinic pets are removed from their crates/pet taxis and placed in kennels.
• Wire crates are not acceptable, but loaner crates are available (at no charge) upon request. 
• All crates must be have a label with your name, your pet's name and a reacheable phone number.  This can be a piece of paper, index card, or masking/duct tape-just something visible and secure.
• Your pet will (by state law) recieve a rabies vaccine ($10) unless you send written proof from your veterinarian of a current rabies vaccine.  Tags alone are not accetable proof.  If you cannot find your paperwork, a copy  can be obtained from the veterinarian office that administered the vaccine.

Checks are made to Animal Welfare of Surry. Financial Assistance is available if funds are available. 

 The Spay/Neuter clinic is staffed with 3 licensed veterinarians and veterinarian technicians. The do not treat sick/injured pets. This clinic is strictly for low cost spay/neutering and immunizations. They will leave instructions on caring for your pet after the procedure. You will receive this when they return the following day. Pick-up is at PetSense between 8:30 - 9:00 a.m.
